About our role:
Aircore is looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial, results-focused Senior Software Engineer (Web Focus). Check out this opportunity if you have an amazing record of building the best possible audio and video chat experience. The selected candidate will be a key part of the team responsible for building and maintaining the client-side web components that allow developers to integrate their apps with the media infrastructure. Aircore offers mid-market and enterprise clients a suite of SDK products featuring real-time audio, text, chat, and video to supercharge their social and collaboration engagement. Our SDKs will continue to add amazing features and functionality and will be supported by a world-class team.
The media team at Aircore is creating one of the most advanced platforms for real-time and streaming media in the world. We build high-performance, high-quality software that runs the gamut from globally distributed server infrastructure to low-level mobile device optimizations schemes.
Note: This is not a traditional front-end role. We are not building UI or user-facing applications.
- Create the APIs that third-party developers use to integrate their apps with the media platform.
- Design, build, and maintain the client-side JavaScript components that interface with the media platform.
- Work with app developers to support their efforts and gather feedback about how the platform works in the real world.
- Collect and analyze metrics relating to system performance and user behavior.
- Participate in detailed and constructive design and code reviews.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other members of the team.
- Take ownership of projects and, working with others, drive them to completion.
About you:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 or more years of relevant industry experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Track record of building complex systems in JavaScript
- Experience building services using Node.js, npm, and related technologies.
- Strong API design skills.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts and networking fundamentals.
- Interest in solving challenging, hard-to-pin-down problems.
Bonus:
These are not required, but will help you hit the ground running.
- Previous experience with WebRTC, streaming protocols, or other media-related technologies.
- Experience building systems with TypeScript.
