Airtime Community Principles
Airtime is a live space where people come together around shared interests and passions. Here, people can express what they love, find their people, and build thriving online communities. It’s a space unlike any other because everything that happens here happens live. All Airtimers have a part in creating the experience, in real time.
But a space like that only works when everyone feels safe and welcomed. How do we create that feeling? It starts with all Airtimers making a commitment: to actively build a safe and welcoming space.
This Safety center is here to help ensure everyone can have the best possible experience while using Airtime.
Equal Airtime for all.
Inclusivity is at the heart of our communities and our values. You don’t have to be an influencer, or have a huge following, or show an invitation, you just have to bring yourself.
Our product is designed to give people, 13+, a place to share and celebrate what they’re into. That means everyone is welcome here. It also means everyone welcomes here. To be a part of the Airtime community is to actively make others feel included and at home.
The Airtime experience is about being part of a loving community that cares about their passions, each other, and how they show up.
Airtimers are the guardians of this community.
Creativity on Airtime is more than just creating content — it’s creating the experience. We are a creator-first app defined by all members’ creative energy. Airtime rooms are all created, powered, and owned by our community and our creators.
This is your place to express yourself. With creative freedom comes responsibility. When you create something, you don’t just let your contribution go. You tend to it and nurture it and help it grow. When you have a part in creating the Airtime experience, you protect it.
If you see something that goes against our principles, guidelines, or values, speak up. Report it. Keep the space safe. This is our community and that means it is in all our hands.
Staying safe in the moment.
Spontaneity is the vital spark of Airtime. It’s the reason people can come from all over the world, share live experiences, and make meaningful connections. Without this core value, Airtime could not achieve our mission of creating thriving online communities.
Here, spontaneity comes from feeling comfortable enough to be yourself and to be in the moment. Feeling safe enough to actively participate in this living, breathing space. Feeling close enough to the people in the room that you can really be your unedited self.
The only way that works is if we build a foundation of respect and trust. Thoughtless, careless, or offensive actions break that trust and cause everyone to put their guard up. And that’s the opposite of spontaneity.
The Airtime community will not tolerate bullying, hate speech, or harassment of any kind. If it doesn’t feel safe and inclusive, it doesn’t belong on Airtime. For a detailed list of Airtime’s Guidelines, click here.
We provide you the tools you need to ensure this is a safe space. For a full description of those tools as well as our moderators’ role on Airtime, click here. We have a Zero-Tolerance Policy for anything that harms any Airtimer. For the full policy, click here.
Airtime is for people ages 13 and up. Anyone under 13 years of age is strictly prohibited from using Airtime, in accordance with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and this Safety Page. If you believe your child or someone you know is in violation of our policies, please contact support@airtime.com.
Guidelines
Things we encourage.
Make all Airtimers feel welcome.
- When someone comes into a room, say hello. When a host goes live, throw a reaction or say something encouraging in the chat. Welcome people like you would in a real-life community.
- Check in with people in your rooms to make sure everyone is feeling good. If someone doesn’t know what’s going on, lend a helping hand and explain it to them. We’re all part of the Airfam here.
- Treat Airtimers like they’re part of your community. Because they are! Be respectful, be compassionate, be welcoming.
Create rooms around things you really care about.
- You have passions. Let them fuel your Airtime rooms. You’ll attract people who share that passion. And that’s what Airtime’s for!
- People want to rally around something that they love. So when you’re creating a room, pick something that you love to be the topic. That’s how you’ll create the most vibrant, engaged communities.
Participate and engage.
- Chime in, speak up, show some love. We give you the tools, like emojis and reactions. Use them! Airtime communities thrive when people participate in real time.
- We encourage you to show up and be present. How you do that is up to you. Whether it’s video, audio, or chat, we want you to be an active participant on Airtime. Try raising your hand! Request to go live on stage and experience the thrill of coming alive with other people in your room.
- In rooms, your energy goes a long way. Give off good vibes with good intentions.
Speak up for yourself and others.
- If you see something that goes against our principles, guidelines, or values, speak up, regardless of whether it affects you directly or indirectly.
- If something doesn’t feel right to you, do something about it! Report bad behavior or bad actors, and get in touch with support if something is making you feel uncomfortable. For a full list of our moderation tools and how to use them, click here.

Moderation
We care about your safety. We have moderators active on Airtime to uphold our Community Principles and make sure you feel safe. We also provide you with tools to keep your experience positive. If you need to get in touch with our team, please reach out to support@airtime.com.
How we moderate.
Our moderators are circulating through public rooms on Airtime to ensure everyone’s safety. They are equipped with tools that allow them to keep bad actors out of your rooms and off the platform.
How we help you moderate.
In addition to our team of moderators, you also have the moderation powers to keep the community safe and the positive vibes flowing! There are tools every Airtimer can access to keep the platform safe.
For every Airtimer.
Report a user
All Airtimers have the ability to report other users. When you report a user in a room, our moderators will be notified and will review the report. Moderators can then take action against the user, like removing them from the room or suspending their account. The user will not be notified that you reported them.
Safety tip: This is useful if a user is repeatedly breaking the Airtime Guidelines or harming the community. As a room creator or host, this is also useful if you would like a moderator’s help handling a particular user.

Report a message or content
All Airtimers are able to report messages in room chat or content such as videos or photos shared. When you report a message or content, our moderators will be notified and will review the report. Moderators can then take action, like hiding the message or content from the chat feed or room. The user who sent the message or shared the content will not be notified that you reported it.
Safety tip: This is useful if a particular message goes against the Airtime Guidelines or is harmful to the community, for example, messages containing slurs, hate speech, or sexually inappropriate language.
Click here to learn how to report something.
Block a user
If you have received unwanted communication from someone on Airtime, you can block them. If they have contacted you and shared content that violates our Community Guidelines, we suggest that you also report their content.
What happens when I block someone?
Blocking someone will prevent them from following you, searching for you, inviting you to a room, seeing rooms you are a member of, seeing your app wide presence, and entering a room you are the founder of.
A member you have blocked will not receive a notification that you have blocked them.
Click here to learn how to block a user.
Note: If you enter a room where the person you blocked is already a member or if they're present in the room, you will be notified upon entering the room: Heads up - Someone you blocked (@username) is in this room.
For room hosts.
As room hosts, you have the ability to report users and messages and to block users. You also have additional moderation tools at your disposal.
Remove a user
When you remove a user from your room, the user will leave your room immediately and will only be allowed back in after an amount of time designated by you. You can remove someone for one hour, for one day, or forever.
Remove a user temporarily
For one hour
This immediately removes a user from your room and only permits them to re-enter after one hour.
If they try to re-enter the room before the hour has passed, they will not be able to. Instead, they’ll be notified of their one-hour removal, but we won’t let them know that you were the one who removed them.
For one day
This immediately removes a user from your room and only permits them to re-enter after 24 hours.
If they try to re-enter the room before the 24 hours have passed, they will not be able to. Instead, they’ll be notified of their 24-hour removal, but we won’t let them know that you were the one who removed them.
Safety tip: These temporary removals are useful warnings to someone who’s being annoying or disruptive but not necessarily violating our Guidelines. Think of it as a temporary suspension.
Remove a user permanently
Forever
This immediately removes a user from your room and means they CANNOT come back to the room, even if they are invited by other room members.
If they try to re-enter the room, they will not be able to. Instead, they’ll be notified of their permanent removal, but we won’t let them know that you were the one who removed them.
Safety tip: This is useful if someone is ruining the experience for everyone in the room or violating our Guidelines. Think of it as a permanent expulsion. If their violation is serious and you think the user should no longer be on the app, please report the user as well as banning them, so that our moderators can take action against them.

Zero-Tolerance Policy

Everyone 13+ is welcome to use our service, but everyone using our service must act in accordance with the Airtime Community Principles laid out in the Safety section of the website, including the Airtime Guidelines. If any member or piece of content is found to be in violation of these, our team will take swift action to stop the violation and to enforce our rules.

Our moderators and/or other Airtime users can take swift action, resulting in the following outcomes:
- You may be blocked by other users, removed from Airtime rooms, or permanently banned from Airtime rooms.
- Your Airtime account may be temporarily or permanently suspended or deleted.
- In some serious circumstances, Airtime may work with law enforcement if we believe there is a genuine risk of physical harm or direct threat to public safety.

Airtime’s Community Principles and Zero-Tolerance Policy apply to everything and everyone on the app:
- All people using Airtime.
- All content created on Airtime.
- All content shared, engaged with, or played in Airtime rooms or anywhere in the app.
What can you do if you see someone or something violating the Guidelines?
- If you see anyone breaking the rules or acting in a way that is harmful to the community, you can use our moderation tools to report the user or their activity.
- If you see any content shared on Airtime that goes against the Community Principles, you can report the content.
How do I appeal an account suspension?
If you believe your account has been suspended in error, you may email us at suspensions@airtime.com to request an appeal.
In your request, please state:
- The date on which this issue occurred.
- The username affected.
- A description of the problem (why you do not believe your account violated Airtime's Community Guidelines).
